The partnership reinforces MWS’s commitment to developing a highly skilled and safety-focused global wind workforce
As the global wind industry continues to grow, wind technician training has become a key priority for companies operating in the sector. Ensuring a highly skilled and well-prepared workforce is essential to support the increasing number of wind projects being developed worldwide. Safety, competence and continuous training play a critical role in this process.
To contribute to this goal, Muehlhan Wind Service (MWS) has joined the member community of the Global Wind Organisation (GWO), an international industry-led organization dedicated to improving safety and training standards for wind turbine technicians.
GWO was founded by some of the leading wind turbine manufacturers and operators. It develops internationally recognised training standards designed to promote a safer and more qualified workforce across the wind industry. These standards help ensure that technicians working on wind turbines around the world share a common foundation of safety knowledge, technical skills and emergency response procedures.
For companies operating internationally, such as Muehlhan Wind Service, alignment with these standards helps ensure consistency in training and safety practices across projects, markets and turbine platforms.
Investing in the Next Generation of Wind Technicians
Behind every wind turbine installation, commissioning project or service campaign, are teams of highly skilled professionals. Wind technicians often work in demanding environments, carrying out complex tasks at significant heights, performing specialized electrical and mechanical work, and supporting both onshore and offshore operations.
As demand increases, wind technician training becomes essential to prepare the next generation of professionals.
In this context, Thomas Andersen, CSO and Co-Founder of Muehlhan Wind Service, said:
“Joining the GWO member community reflects our strong commitment to building and sustaining a highly skilled workforce for the wind industry. With the growing global demand for both onshore and offshore wind services, the need to attract, train, and develop new technicians has never been greater.
As a company with a strong focus on Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ), Muehlhan Wind Service is committed to actively contributing to the education, upskilling, and professional development of technicians entering the renewable energy sector. We look forward to working closely with GWO to help strengthen industry standards and support the long-term competence and excellence of the global wind workforce.”
At MWS, we recognize the importance of continuous training for technicians, as safety is a fundamental part of their profession. For this reason, we ensure standardized training frameworks that help our teams operate across different projects and regions, share the same safety culture and operational practices.
Initiatives like GWO contribute to improving wind technician training and strengthening workforce development worldwide. By aligning internationally recognized standards, we will continue to contribute to ever-higher working standards for our technicians and to the quality of the services delivered to clients worldwide.
